Seattle Aquarium

Located on the Elliot Bay waterfront, the is the place to get face to face with the Pacific Northwest marine life. In the underwater dome room, the Window on Washington Waters, you can get a fantastic up-close view of Puget Sound’s underwater world, including salmon, sea anemones, rockfish, kelp and other marine life. This 120,000-gallon (454,000 l) exhibit features a huge viewing window. Other highlights are the coral reef exhibit and the hands-on Discovery Lab, a fun touch tank for children.

Many restaurants and stores dot Seattle’s waterfront. It’s a nice area for an afternoon stroll. Many excursion boats are located here as well. The Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center at Pier 66 (Bell Street Complex) has many interactive exhibits that show the operations of a large port, the fishing industry in Puget Sound and boat navigation.

A combat Russian submarine of the Soviet Navy is located at Pier 48. Submarine tours are available. There’s also a picturesque trolley that picks up passengers and drops them off along the waterfront. It also goes to Pioneer Square and the International District.
